On December 4, a new Center for the Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies was opened at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin — a unique space in Bishkek that will focus on scientific research, educational initiatives, and cultural events dedicated to the Kyrgyz language and the epic "Manas".

According to the university, the opening of the Center coincided with the Day of the "Manas" epic and was accompanied by a photo exhibition highlighting the history of the storytelling tradition, the legacy of the outstanding manaschy Sayakbay Karalaev, and the process of studying the epic heritage.

The rector of KRSU, Sergey Volkov, emphasized that the new Center will serve as a platform for cultural exchange, scientific research, and respect for majestic traditions. He also noted that the Center will be located in the main building of the university and will be integrated into the updated humanitarian space of KRSU.

The Center will be headed by Doctor of Philological Sciences, Honored Cultural Worker of the Kyrgyz Republic, and President of the International Association of Manasologists Talantaaly Bakchiyev.

The main areas of work for the Center for the Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies will include:

- studying the epic and storytelling traditions;

- developing scientific projects in the field of epic studies;
