An important event has taken place in Kyrgyzstan — the first academic monograph dedicated to the teaching of the Japanese language in Kyrgyz has been published. This publication is the result of an international project carried out in collaboration with Hiroshima University (Japan) and the Jalalabad State University named after Jusup Balasagyn.

According to KNU, this book is the first academic work of its kind for the country.

The project was led by Associate Professor Yuto Saidze from Hiroshima University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. The co-authors are Mayram Zholbulakova, a senior lecturer at the Faculty of International Relations and Oriental Studies at KNU, and Asel Junushalieva, a senior lecturer at BGU.

The monograph summarizes the results of many years of collaboration between scholars from Kyrgyzstan and Japan, covering issues related to the training of specialists in the Japanese language, the development of curricula and pedagogical design, as well as including an analysis of educational discourse.

The release of the book is timed to coincide with the centenary of the Jalalabad State University named after Jusup Balasagyn and marks a new stage in the development of Japanese linguistics and intercultural studies in Kyrgyzstan.
