Changes at the border crossing points with Kazakhstan have received support in the Jogorku Kenesh.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputies approved a bill in the second reading concerning the ratification of a protocol that amends the agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan on border crossing points.
The document provides for changes for two control points.
The 'Kamishanovka - road' checkpoint, located in the Chui region on the border with Kazakhstan, will be renamed to 'Tomonku-Chui - road'. Its status will also change from bilateral to multilateral, allowing citizens of other countries to cross the border.
Additionally, the operating regime of the checkpoint will change: currently, it is open only during daylight hours, but after the changes come into effect, it will operate around the clock.
Changes also affect the 'Kichi-Kapka - road' checkpoint, located in the Talas region on the border with Kazakhstan. Its status will also become multilateral, expanding opportunities for foreign citizens.
