This information became known during the visit of the presidential envoy to the Chui region to the territory of the previously closed checkpoint "Kamyshanovka," the reason for its closure being the poor condition of the infrastructure.
During the visit, plans were announced for the construction of a new checkpoint, which will also be intended for the passage of cargo vehicles.
Local authorities are confident that the implementation of this project will contribute to improving the conditions for the import and export of goods, as well as enhance the efficiency of transport and logistics routes.
Additionally, the project includes the creation of an alternative road, which will allow transit traffic to be routed outside the populated area and minimize inconveniences for local citizens.
Work in this direction will continue.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh in September 2024, the issue of opening the checkpoint in Kamyshanovka was discussed. The Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security and the Director of the Border Service, Ulan Sharshiev, noted that this issue is under consideration by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
“Currently, negotiations are underway regarding the necessary construction work to create the infrastructure. It is possible that one post will be built or two others. This issue has not yet been resolved. Kazakhstan is in agreement. It is necessary to determine the measures required to open the new post,” he added.
