The plant was officially opened on July 18, 2024, as part of an online event featuring the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The project to create the automobile plant resulted from an agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, aimed at producing passenger and commercial vehicles. The enterprise plans to produce up to 10,000 vehicles annually, with the potential to increase to 30,000. As part of the project implementation, more than 1,000 new jobs will be created. The construction of the plant began in May 2023 and occupies an area of 4.5 hectares.
To support the purchase of vehicles produced at this plant, a "Preferential Auto Credit" program has been implemented. The terms of the loan are as follows:
Interest rate is 8% per annum
Down payment – 20%
Participating banks: "Eldik Bank" and "Aiyl Bank"
The opening of "Tulpar Motors" has become an important step in the development of the automotive industry in Kyrgyzstan and in increasing the country's production capabilities. The investment volume in the project is approximately 50 million US dollars, and its implementation will take place in three phases.
