The results of the film forum "Umut" were summarized in Bishkek.

The XIII International Film Forum "Umut" has concluded in Bishkek, gathering young filmmakers from CIS countries. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

During the event, 38 films were presented, and participants had the opportunity to engage in educational meetings with professionals and present their projects to experts.

As a result of the international competition, the main prize for Best Film was awarded to Armenian director Lia Karapetyan for her work "Seagulls over Golgotha." The award for "Best Director" was given to Azerbaijani Nurlan Hasanli for the film "Early Feelings."


In the national competition, the film "Balık," created by director Tolomush Janibekov, won. Daniyar Abirov was named Best Director among local participants for the film "Obonchu."

During the project pitching, the work "You and I," noted by the film studio "Kyrgyzfilm," received support. Funding was also provided for the projects "Accomplice," "Ultrasound," and "Gesture."

The film forum took place from March 4 to 7 and included film screenings, master classes, and pitching of new film projects.
