In Nookat, the construction of an alternative road will begin, which will bypass the internal streets of the city and will be connected to the international highway Osh–Batken–Razakov. This was reported by Turmush, citing the district administration.

The project is designed to reduce traffic congestion in the city.

“The district administration, together with local authorities, has developed a project for the bypass road, and work will begin shortly,” the message notes.

The road will start from the rural district named after T. Zulpuyev, pass through the rural districts of A. Mirmakhmudov, Gulistan, Jangy-Nookat, and exit through the rural district of Bel. The total length will be 16 kilometers, and the estimated cost is 1 billion 428 million 564 thousand 240 soms.

At a recent meeting, former Deputy Prime Minister Kamchybek Tashiev was briefed on the bypass road project in Nookat, which took place on July 22, 2024.

Explanations regarding the project were provided by Elchibek Jantayev, the presidential representative in the Osh region.

The new road will have two bridges, each 12 meters long, with a project cost of 360 million soms, and the road will be classified as IV technical category.

Kamchybek Tashiev expressed doubt whether 360 million soms would be sufficient for the construction of an 18 km long road.

He emphasized the need for a quality approach to construction: “If such a road is to be built, it must be robust. It needs to be like a highway since large trucks will travel on it. Parking areas of 5 hectares should be provided on both sides of the road,” he noted.

The issue will be further reviewed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
