The Jogorku Kenesh adopted a bill on state awards that sparked debates among deputies

On March 19, the third reading of the bill on state awards, honorary titles, and state prizes took place, which was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to the draft, the following categories of state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic will be established:

the highest state award – "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn El Batyry";
a special state award – "Emgek Batyry".

The first category of state awards includes:

Order of "Manas" I degree;
Order of "Manas" II degree;
Order of "Manas" III degree;
Order of "Kurmanzhan Datka";
Order of "Erdik";
Order of "Dank";
Order of "Dostuk";
Order of "Baatyr Ene".

The second category includes:

Medal "Ardak";
Medal "Ene Danky".

Additionally, the following honorary titles will be introduced:

"Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn el mughalimi";
"Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn el vrachy";
"Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn el artisti";
"Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn el jazuchusu";
"Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn el akyny";
"Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn el surotchusu";
"Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn zharatmany";
"Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn syymygy".

It is also planned to establish a state prize named after Kasym Tynystanov in the field of science and technology, while the prize named after Toktogul in the field of literature and art will remain.

We remind you that the preliminary version of the bill contained a proposal to reduce the total number of state awards, honorary titles, and prizes from 48 to 20. This included the exclusion of such honorary titles as "El artisti", "El jazuchusu", "El surotchusu", "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn zharatmany", and "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn syymygy", which sparked the most heated discussions in parliament.
