According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in February 2026, a traffic accident occurred in Indiana involving a truck driven by a Kyrgyz citizen.
At the moment, he has officially been charged by the local authorities in Indiana. A lawyer is handling the defense of the detained individual.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that their diplomatic missions in the USA are in constant contact with the lawyer, the relatives of the detainee, and the citizen himself, as well as interacting with the relevant local services.
The situation is under the control of the ministry.
According to media reports, the incident occurred in February 2026. Preliminary information indicates that the truck, driven by the citizen of Kyrgyzstan, crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a passenger vehicle. As a result of the accident, four people died, and one was injured. Currently, US law enforcement agencies are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
