The unique Aigul flower, which is a symbol of nature and a pride of the local residents, has begun to bloom in the Batken region. This information was reported by representatives of the regional administration.
The Aigul flower is characterized by long leaves and bell-shaped petals of bright orange color, with a height that can reach one meter. Interestingly, this flower prefers to grow only on the shady slopes of the mountains. Due to its rarity, it is listed in the Red Book.
The first bloom of Aigul occurs only seven years after the bulb has rooted in the soil. Each subsequent year, one flower is added to the stem, which makes it easy to determine the age of the plant. According to folk legends, there have been specimens that simultaneously bloomed with up to 34 flowers.
In order to protect and increase the population of this rare plant, temporary restrictions on visits for citizens have been introduced in the protected natural area "Aigul-Tash." This ban, established by a decree of the Batken district state administration, will be in effect from March 1 of this year until March 1, 2030. During this period, the protection of the "Aigul-Tash" area will be intensified.
