Wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan performed poorly at the tournament in the USA

At the tournament held on November 7-8 in New York, athletes from Kyrgyzstan were unable to perform as expected.

Despite initial plans, only eight athletes, representing both Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling, made it to the national team. However, only three of them stepped onto the mat.

In the 65 kg category, Aibek Toktogul uulu and Askat Toktomatov competed. Toktomatov started in the quarterfinals, where he lost to American Samuel Laton with a score of 0:11. In the consolation tournament for third place, the Kyrgyzstani also failed to secure a victory, losing to a representative from the Bahamas with a score of 1:9.

As for Toktogul uulu, his journey in the tournament ended in the 1/8 finals, where he fought against Ecuadorian Joshua Kramer but lost in a close match with a score of 6:7.

Bekbol Izabekov also did not advance further in the 74 kg category, starting from the quarterfinals. His opponent was Yahya Thomas from the USA, whom he lost to with a score of 0:10. In the consolation tournament, Bekbol lost to Adam Thompson from Canada, finishing the match with a score of 2:8.

Other members of the Kyrgyzstan team, such as Bekzat Almaz uulu, Taiyrbek Jumashbek uulu, Ernazar Akmataliev, Adilet Anarbekov, Nurtilek Karybekov, and Akiykat Kulzhigit uulu, did not participate in the tournament.
