Kyrgyzstan presented its wrestler Abdymalik Karachov, who became the winner in freestyle wrestling at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games. This information was provided by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Karachov competed in the category up to 57 kg. During the tournament, he achieved important victories over Uzbekistan's Gulomjon Abdullaev, who is a bronze medalist of the Olympic Games and the 2025 World Championship, as well as over Guinea's Mohamed Kamara, which allowed him to reach the finals.
In the final match, the Kyrgyzstani defeated Azerbaijani Islam Bazarhanov with a score of 9:3, who is also a bronze medalist of the 2025 European Championship, thus winning the gold medal of the Islamic Games.
