This season, the 28-year-old forward representing Paris Saint-Germain was part of the team that won the Champions League, as well as the league, cup, and Super Cup of France. He impressed everyone by scoring 35 goals in 53 matches for the Paris club.
The Best award was first presented in 2016. Lionel Messi, captain of the Argentine national team, has won this award three times (in 2019, 2022, and 2023). Polish player Robert Lewandowski (2020, 2021) and Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo (2016, 2017) have also won it twice. In 2018, the prize went to Croatian Luka Modrić, and last year it was awarded to Brazilian Vinícius Júnior.
The world's best female footballer for the third consecutive time was named Aitana Bonmatí, captain of the Spanish national team and Barcelona.
The title of best coach among men's teams was awarded to Spaniard Luis Enrique, head of Paris Saint-Germain, while the women's award went to Dutch coach Sarina Wiegman, coach of the England national team.
The best goalkeeper was Italian Gianluigi Donnarumma from Manchester City.
The Fair Play award was given to Andreas Haralassou-Noikingu, a doctor from the German club Jahn Regensburg, who saved a fan of Magdeburg during a match.
