In Kyrgyzstan, the development of sports infrastructure is actively being discussed, including for training camps at Issyk-Kul. This became known on January 19 during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee, where the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Kazybek Moldazhiyev, presented relevant information.

Deputy Bolot Sagynaev raised the issue of the sports base in the Ton district, which is associated with the outstanding athlete Satymkul Jumanaazarov. He noted that foreign athletes often come to this area for training camps, but there is a lack of a full-fledged base for their accommodation and preparation.

According to Sagynaev, the old base in this area still exists, and it has prepared tracks for training, located at an altitude of about 2,500 meters. The deputy emphasized that this is the only such facility in Central Asia, which creates excellent conditions for training.

In addition, he reported that a plot of land had previously been allocated in the village of Tosor for an Olympic village and inquired about the progress of work on this project.

Moldazhiyev responded that relevant activities are indeed being carried out. He pointed out the lack of infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan for holding sports camps, which forces local athletes to go abroad. In this regard, plans are being discussed for the construction of a new base at Issyk-Kul, which will be located on the territory of the republican sports college.

Furthermore, the agency director noted that there have been changes in the leadership of the Athletics Federation, and the new president of the federation is conducting an inventory of sports facilities.

He added that athletics is a priority Olympic sport, so the issue of developing facilities in the Ton district will be considered jointly to find an optimal solution.
