On January 19, Deputy Minister of Culture Marat Tagaev announced at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh the Ministry of Culture's readiness to collaborate with private film productions.

During the meeting, a report on the state of national cinematography was presented.

Deputy Bolo Saginayev suggested developing film shoots within the framework of public-private partnerships, emphasizing that it is private productions that contribute to the development of Kyrgyzstan's film industry.

Tagaev noted that there are already two pilot commercial projects, one of which is planned for release in mid-2026. A separate account will be created for this purpose. "There are 80 private film studios operating in the country, and we are ready to support their initiatives if the project themes meet our criteria. Previously, only a few directors could present their ideas," he added.

Saginayev also pointed out a total budget of about 1 billion soms, proposing to allocate 500 million soms to state studios, while directing the remaining amount to private productions to ensure a return on investment. "Your report on the films made includes many private projects," he noted.

In response, the Director of the Cinematography Department Talantbek Tolobekov promised to consider this proposal.
