The Deputy Minister of Culture Marat Tagaev announced the Ministry of Culture's intention to reduce the production of documentary films at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with science, education, innovation, information technologies, culture, sports, and youth affairs.

He noted that such films are often created in honor of anniversaries, such as the 90th or 100th birthdays of famous individuals, and require significant financial investments.

“The National Council has decided to significantly reduce the number of documentary films. Previously, we often created programs and films dedicated to the anniversaries of people,” he added.

In addition, Tagaev announced plans to shoot a documentary film dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence. “We will stop the practice of making films in honor of the 60th or 70th birthdays of living people, which costs millions,” he emphasized.
