At the event dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2250, held under the leadership of the Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev, key aspects concerning youth in the country were discussed.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture, more than 2.5 million young people, which constitutes over one-third of the population of Kyrgyzstan, fall within the age category of 14 to 35 years, according to the law "On Youth".

Kyrgyzstan has become the second state in the OSCE and the ninth in the world to approve a National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Resolution 2250 for the years 2025–2027.

The Minister also emphasized that from November 25 to December 10, the country is holding the campaign "16 Days Against Gender Violence," with a focus in 2025 on the issue of digital violence against women and girls.

In addition, Mambetaliev reported on amendments to the election legislation initiated by President Sadyr Japarov, which will ensure a 30% quota for one gender in parliament. Following the last elections, women received 33% of all mandates.

Discussing youth participation in state governance, the Minister noted that 15% of the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh and 23% of local council representatives are young people. A state support program for youth entrepreneurship for 2025-2028 is also being implemented.

In conclusion of his speech, Mambetaliev announced Kyrgyzstan's candidacy for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for the years 2027-2028 and confirmed that the country continues to adhere to the principles of Resolution 2250, actively involving youth in processes aimed at strengthening peace and stability.
