Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, recently tested the new "Ferrari SF-26" car on the team's factory track in Fiorano. This was the car's first outing for testing.
At the official presentation of the car, the British driver, along with his new teammate Charles Leclerc, noted that he feels an unusual excitement ahead of this new stage in his career. Hamilton emphasized that moving to "Scuderia" has become an opportunity for a complete reboot and adaptation to new working conditions within the team.
Frederic Vasseur, head of "Ferrari," stated that the "SF-26" symbolizes a "new era" for the team. In Maranello, they hope that this car will bring them back into the fight for the championship title after the disappointments of the previous season.
Hamilton also added that the 2026 championship will be one of the most serious challenges in his career due to significant changes in the technical regulations. According to the new rules, power will be distributed equally between the internal combustion engine and the electric part of the hybrid unit.
Full preseason tests for the "Ferrari SF-26" will begin next week in Barcelona, where all teams will prepare for the start of the 2026 season.
