According to their information, Petrashov, who was 88 years old, left behind a significant legacy in the world of cycling.
Honored coach of the Kyrgyz SSR and Kyrgyzstan, as well as an honorary master of sports of the USSR, Georgy Petrashov led the national cycling team of the Kyrgyz SSR for many years.
“He trained numerous outstanding cyclists and had an invaluable impact on the development of the national cycling school,” the official statement notes.
Additionally, Georgy Petrashov was the grandfather of Denis Petrashov, an international class master of sports in swimming in Kyrgyzstan.
