Despite the recent airstrikes by the United States and the escalating situation in the region, FIFA is confident that the Iranian team will be represented at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Iranian footballers will play two group stage matches in Los Angeles and one in Seattle. Earlier, representatives of the Iranian Football Federation expressed concerns about the team's participation; however, FIFA assured that they are actively monitoring the situation and working in cooperation with the host countries to ensure the safety of both players and fans.
Matthias Grafström, Secretary of the FIFA General Secretariat, emphasized that the organization is making every effort to ensure safe travel for the teams and their participation in the tournament.
