LeBron James breaks the historic NBA record for field goals

This historic event took place on March 5, 2026, during an away game against the Denver Nuggets. At the end of the first quarter, the 41-year-old athlete successfully made a turnaround shot, overcoming the defense of Zeke Nnaji from approximately 12 feet away.

This shot became the 15,838th of LeBron's career in regular season games, allowing him to surpass the legendary center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who held the record since 1989 with 15,837 made shots. Karl Malone ranks third on the all-time NBA list with 13,528 successful field goals.

It is worth noting that James was already recognized as the all-time leading scorer in NBA history in February 2023. Additionally, he still leads in playoff points and recently surpassed the 50,000 career points mark, including both regular seasons and playoff games.

Despite his age, LeBron James continues to set new records in the league, reaffirming his status as one of the greatest athletes in history.
