He won the interim championship title in the welterweight division on December 6, 2025, at the ACA 197 tournament, where he choked out his opponent Uzair Abdurakhov from Russia in just 33 seconds.
Meanwhile, Abubakar Vagaev, the reigning champion of this division from Russia, took a break from his career.
According to plans, a unification fight between Vagaev and Myrzabekov was supposed to take place in the spring of 2026; however, first, the Kyrgyz fighter suffered an injury during training, and then Vagaev signed a contract with the UFC, vacating the title.
“Now Zhaksylik Myrzabekov is the full champion, not the interim one. Currently, the number one contender in this category is Albert Tumenov,” said ACA league president Magomed Bibulatov at a press conference.
