CAF President Patrice Motsepe announced that the organization will adhere to the ruling of the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding the Senegal national team, which has been stripped of the Africa Cup of Nations title.
Recall that in the final match, Senegal defeated Morocco with a minimal score of 1:0. However, after careful consideration of the case in international arbitration, the result was changed: Senegal received a technical defeat, and the title was awarded to Morocco with a final score of 3:0.
Motsepe noted that his personal opinion does not matter, as CAF is obligated to comply with the court's decision. He also announced significant changes to the competition regulations, emphasizing the need to enhance the transparency of officiating and trust in the VAR system.
Additionally, there have been changes in the leadership of the confederation: Samson Adamu has been appointed as the interim Secretary General of CAF, replacing Veron Mosengo-Omba, who resigned.
