Senegal celebrates victory in the Africa Cup of Nations final

In the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, held in Rabat, the Senegalese team defeated the Moroccan hosts of the tournament with a narrow score of 1:0, scoring the decisive goal in extra time.

Pape Gueye became the hero of the match, which brought Senegal its second African championship title in history. The final will be remembered not only for the intense competition but also for controversial moments and emotional outbursts, including the brief exit of Senegalese players from the field in the closing minutes.

Celebrations of the victory swept across the country: in the capital Dakar, fans filled the streets, set off fireworks, sang and danced, proudly waving national flags, celebrating the triumph of the "Lions of Teranga."

The country's president, Bassirou Diomai Faye, congratulated the team on their success, emphasizing their resilience and fighting spirit. In honor of the victory, he declared a day off and promised financial bonuses for the players and coaching staff.

This victory solidified Senegal's position as one of the leading football powers in Africa, following their first triumph in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021.
