Asian Championship in Bishkek: On the first day, three Kyrgyzstan athletes reached the finals

The Asian Wrestling Championship has kicked off in Bishkek, and on its first day, three representatives from Kyrgyzstan reached the finals.

On April 6, the finalists were determined in five weight categories of Greco-Roman wrestling.

Five wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan competed, four of whom successfully advanced to the semifinals.

In the evening session, Aftandil Talaybek uulu, Akjol Mahmudov, and Asan Zhanishov secured confident victories, ensuring their spots in the finals.

Ulan Muratbek uulu, unfortunately, lost in the match for a place in the finals and will now compete for bronze.

Roman Kim started the competition with a victory, but in the quarterfinals, he lost to the world and Asian champion from Iran. The Iranian reached the finals, while the Kyrgyzstani will now fight for the bronze medal.

The bronze medal matches and final bouts in these weight categories will take place on April 7.
