Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, discussed with the publication VB.KG the prospects for the development of relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

She noted that the phrase "peaceful future" requires active participation in its creation. "Previously, we perceived the struggle for peace as a slogan, but now we understand that it is something we really need to fight for. We face numerous challenges that can divide us, creating non-existent threats and risks. Our task is to ensure a future for our children where friendship is real, and cooperation is mutually beneficial and based on respect. It is important for them to take pride in their countries, cultures, and to respect those who fought for their peaceful lives," she said.

Zakharova also reminded about the upcoming anniversary — the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, in which Kyrgyzstan played a significant role.

"We remember that victory was achieved through the efforts of millions of people. It is important to remember the sacrifices made by nations so that this memory is not forgotten. Without historical memory, it is impossible to build the future; it will lead to the repetition of past mistakes," she emphasized.

Quoting the writer Sergey Mikhalkov, Zakharova noted: "Today — children, tomorrow — the country."

According to her, the future of our countries depends on how today's children grow up. "We need to create conditions for revealing their best qualities. There will always be shortcomings; that is natural. However, we must set benchmarks that will help develop their creative potential and provide quality education. Let them build a peaceful and healthy future, resisting negative destructive influences," Zakharova concluded.
