Elections of Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh: What Residents of the Ak-Suu District Are Saying

From 08:00 in the Ak-Suu district of the Issyk-Kul region, 39 polling stations opened their doors for the early elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh, which are taking place today, November 30. 

According to the district electoral commission, there are 46,047 registered voters in electoral district No. 27.

At polling station No. 3122 in the village of Ak-Suu, local elders were the first to vote, noting the calm atmosphere of the elections and expressing hope for the success of worthy candidates.

89-year-old Kalyis Jumakozhoev shared that he came to the elections to fulfill his civic duty. He noted: “I want the elections to be peaceful. In this voting, the quality of organization, order, and timely opening of the station is noticeably good.”

Labor veteran, 78-year-old Maria Derkenbaeva, added that “talented and hardworking people” are participating. She expressed hope that “everyone will vote sincerely, and worthy candidates will fulfill their obligations and serve the people.”

Turghan Junusheva, 78, who worked as a teacher at the Mamakeev school for many years, believes that these elections are taking place in an unusual format. She expressed the opinion: “The country is developing now, and I would like the elected deputies to keep their promises, justify the trust, and contribute to the development of the state.”

Ak-Suu district mayor Kanatbek Kaldaraliev reported that preparations for the elections proceeded according to schedule. “There are 39 polling stations operating in the district. All necessary equipment was delivered in advance and tested. At the moment, all stations are fully ready,” he added.

Total number of voters: 157,722.

Boundaries of the district: the city of Cholpon-Ata, all rural districts of Toru-Aigyr-Tamchinsky, Shaiybek-Atinsky, J. Abdrakhmanov, and Sadyrakensky of the Issyk-Kul district; all rural districts of Karasaevsky, Issyk-Kulsky, Balbaysky, Karkyrynsky, and Tyupsky of the Tyup district; and all rural districts of Khan-Tenirsky, Karakolsky, Altyn Arashansky, and Kydyrakensky of the Ak-Suu district.
