
Deputy Prime Minister commented on the new conditions of political life after the parliamentary elections
In an interview with The Liberum, Edil Baisalov, who took the position of Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, emphasized that the country will remain a symbol of democracy in Central Asia following the parliamentary elections.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan has established the most modern electoral institutions in the region. As a result, both parliamentary and presidential elections in the country consistently receive high marks for their freedom and fairness. The politician noted that the Kyrgyz people take pride in their nomadic heritage, which was not based on authoritarian or centralized systems. Kyrgyzstan has a rich history of resisting attempts to impose systems that serve only the interests of a narrow elite,” he added.
Baisalov stressed that democracy should work for the benefit of all citizens, not just privileged groups.
