The President urged parliamentarians not to bargain with the government

Sadyr Japarov spoke at the first session of the new VIII convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh

During his speech, the president urged elected officials to avoid deals with the government when it comes to reviewing reports from the cabinet of ministers or adopting the state budget.

“Some deputies demand the fulfillment of specific tasks. For example, to vote for a report, they require the paving of a road in their native village for one kilometer. This significantly increases construction costs — the price of one kilometer can rise 2–3 times,” the president emphasized.

He added that it is more practical to build large sections of roads, starting from 10 kilometers, to efficiently use construction materials, equipment, and budget funds, as well as to create factories and quarries nearby.

The president also touched on similar issues regarding the construction of schools, kindergartens, and sports facilities. According to him, in some villages, new buildings are erected with the support of deputies or ministers, while in neighboring settlements, old schools remain in a deplorable state and are unsuitable for education.

“Let’s not allow such injustice in the future and rationally use state funds. We must provide roads, schools, and social facilities for every village,” noted Sadyr Japarov.
