At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, President Sadyr Japarov announced plans to provide paved roads in every village of the country. He noted that previously only one kilometer of road was often paved, which caused many problems.
“Some deputies, while discussing the reports of the cabinet of ministers or the national budget, often demand the paving of one kilometer of road in their villages. Otherwise, they threaten to vote against the report. This results in only one kilometer being paved, which is extremely inefficient. I have banned such practices. Think about how many resources are required to fulfill such an order: equipment, inert materials, and asphalt must be delivered from afar. This significantly increases the cost of construction. However, if we lay roads of 10 kilometers or more, we can organize asphalt and concrete plants nearby and open quarries to extract the necessary materials. This will allow the state to save funds and use them more rationally,” the president emphasized.
Sadyr Japarov added that instead of building roads one kilometer at a time, long stretches of up to 100 kilometers will be constructed if necessary.
