Fee for the mandate? Which of the new deputies spent the most on elections (and who spent the least)

The elections for new deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh took place, and on December 17, 87 elected deputies took their oath. It should be noted that re-elections will be held in one district.

Nevertheless, financial experts and accountants continue to tally the expenses for the elections.

According to Article 62-1 of the Law "On Elections," the maximum amount that a candidate can spend from their electoral fund must not exceed 20 million soms, which is equivalent to 200,000 calculated indicators.

This amount includes expenses for the work of the headquarters, campaigners, printing materials, and other expenses. Each candidate is required to report weekly on their financial income and expenditures.

According to the Central Election Commission, 87 candidates, including three from the "Yntymak" party, collected a total of 739 million 188 thousand 78 soms in their electoral funds, and the same amount was spent. The accounts were left with a zero balance.

Financial Contributions of the "Yntymak" Party

According to the party's reports, their electoral fund received 70 million 945 thousand 290 soms, which were also spent on campaigning. It was not possible to determine the details of the expenses for each candidate; however, significant amounts were contributed by both the party leader Marlen Mamataliyev (1.5 million soms) and other candidates. There were also voluntary contributions, totaling 301 payments amounting to 58 million 979 thousand 280 soms. Of this amount, 1 million 829 thousand 700 soms were returned due to errors in the details, leaving a balance of only 15 thousand soms.

Who Spent the Most?

The highest expenses were recorded for the deputy from district No. 30, Ulan Bakasov - 19 million 983 thousand 780 soms. In second place is Bolot Sagynaev with an amount of 19 million 784 thousand 850 soms, and in third place is Talaybek kyzy Zhyldyz, who spent 18 million 260 thousand soms.

Expense Items

The financial resources were directed towards paying the candidate fee of 300 thousand soms, printing campaign materials (banners, leaflets, merchandise), and renting premises for conducting campaigning. However, the main part of the expenses was for the payment of campaigners, who received an average of 10 to 20 thousand soms. Services for video support and photography of the campaign were also paid for.

On average, each candidate spent 8 million 353 thousand 678 soms to secure a seat in the Jogorku Kenesh.
