Sadyr Japarov, the president of the country, presented gifts to primary school students who overcame meter-high snowdrifts to reach school. This was reported on social media by Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy service of the presidential administration.
Regarding one of the awardees — Nurzaman Almazbekov, a fourth-grade student at the "Aydyn-Kol" school located in the village of Koo-Chaty in the Kara-Kuldzhinsky district of the Osh region, and his younger friend.
Recently, a video went viral online showing the fourth grader struggling through deep snow on his way to school.
The president highly praised the children's desire to learn despite the challenging natural conditions, invited Nurzaman to the New Year's tree, and presented him with a laptop, smartphone, and soccer ball. Gifts were also given to the second grader.
