A new waste incineration plant has been completed in Bishkek and has already begun operations. According to Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the information service of the presidential administration, this facility is already connected to the power grid and generates about 3.5 MW of electricity, with the potential to increase capacity to 18 MW by the end of the day, and eventually up to 30 MW.

Orunbekov also noted that the launch of the plant will allow the city to eliminate the old landfill that has been polluting the environment for more than fifty years. Instead of storing waste, it will now be incinerated to generate electricity, and the remaining materials are planned to be used in construction.

Every day, approximately 1,000 tons of waste is collected in Bishkek. The new plant is capable of processing up to 1,200 tons per day, which fully meets the needs of the capital.

The head of the information service emphasized that no smoke is produced during the operation of the plant: only light steam is released, which quickly dissipates into the atmosphere. The technology used at the plant is considered environmentally safe.
