RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF PEOPLE'S COMMISSARS OF THE KYRGYZ SSR "ON THE ORGANIZATION OF THE BOOK CHAMBER"

It was resolved: 1. To organize, under the Committee of Science of the Council of People's Commissars of the Kyrgyz SSR, the Book Chamber of the Kyrgyz SSR.
2. To assign the following functions to the Book Chamber:
a) registration and accounting of all printed works published in the territory of the Kyrgyz SSR;
b) publication of the "Chronicle of Printing of the Kyrgyz SSR" and other bibliographic bulletins, directories, and lists;
c) provision of the most important libraries of the USSR and the Kyrgyz SSR with mandatory copies of printed works from the Kyrgyz SSR.
3. The Book Chamber of the Kyrgyz SSR shall strictly follow the instructions of the All-Union Book Chamber in its work.
4. The People's Commissariat for Education shall ensure the actual commencement of the Book Chamber's operations by July 1, 1937, and from that date, propose that all printing enterprises of the Kyrgyz SSR send mandatory copies of the works they produce to the Book Chamber of the Kyrgyz SSR (instead of the mandatory copies currently sent to the Book Chamber in Moscow).
5. To allocate 6300 rubles for the maintenance of the Book Chamber of the Kyrgyz SSR until January 1, 1938, according to the submitted budget, entrusting the People's Commissariat for Finance, together with the People's Commissariat for Education, to determine the sources for covering these expenses.
6. To include the construction of the State Library and Book Chamber building in the capital construction plan for 1938.
