People of Osh Who Earned Respect


In the city of Osh, there have been a number of honorary and respected individuals over time. The residents of the city speak of them with great warmth and remember them with deep gratitude. Here they are. Among the long-time residents of the city is Djura Zainabitdinov. He was the first Komsomol member, secretary of the primary Komsomol organization, a teacher at the first Uzbek folk school, later a party worker, and currently heads the neighborhood committee. D. Zainabitdinov opened a Sunday club for adults and children in his yard, where he holds meetings for residents with deputies, doctors, lawyers, and artists. He is affectionately called Djura-aka.

The neighborhood committees were headed by teacher Saidov, communist Abdurakhmanov, and activists Tashmatov, Satarov, and others. Rakhmatulaev is a devout man. He delivers sermons in the mosque and ensures that residents behave as true Muslims, adhering to Sharia laws and religious rituals. He also heads the neighborhood committee and has many followers.

Aliyev Yusup Ali Mukhamed (1898) was an organizer of the revolutionary movement among Kyrgyz and Uzbek peasants and a participant in the struggle for the establishment of Soviet power in Osh. In 1916, he was mobilized by the Tsarist administration for military rear work and participated in the anti-war movement. He returned to Osh in 1917. Aliyev was one of the organizers of the Osh Council of Muslim and tea trade deputies; he worked in the district city council and from July 1918 in the executive committee as head of the national department of the district revolutionary committee; from February 1920, he was a member of the workers' and peasants' inspection. After the Civil War, he held responsible positions in the Soviet government.

Anoshin Alexander Grigorievich (1888) was a participant in the struggle for the establishment and consolidation of Soviet power, the organizer and first chairman of the Bolshevik group in Osh. A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1917, he was an active participant in the revolutionary events of 1905-1907 in Ufa and Omsk. In 1908, he fled to Central Asia to escape Tsarist persecution. In June 1918, he was elected chairman of the executive committee of the Osh district council and simultaneously served as military commissioner.

Mirabdraizov Kholil (1914) is a Hero of Socialist Labor. He worked as a laborer on the construction of the Frunze-Tokmak railway, served as secretary of the Osh district party committee and the regional committee. He was awarded 2 Orders of Lenin, 2 Orders of the Badge of Honor, and the Order of the Red Star. He was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR of the second, third, and fifth convocations.

Badigin Mikhail Petrovich (1923) was awarded 3 Orders of Glory of the third degree. After demobilization from the army, he worked in party organs and made a significant contribution to the development of the city of Osh, where he currently lives. A respected veteran, he was awarded the Order of Manas. Turgun Ibraimov, 87 years old, writes in his memoirs that the city of Osh is one of the beautiful cities in Central Asia. He asserts that Kyrgyz and Uzbeks have always lived in harmony and that the events of 1990 occurred not due to the fault of the Kyrgyz or Uzbeks, but because of the reckless actions of some regional and republic leaders.

Dorožinskiy Filip Stepanovich lived and worked in Osh. He began his labor activity in 1936 as head of the district department of the Pisulsky district of the West Siberian region, and in 1938 he was transferred to the management of the Pamir road. From 1939 to 1945, he served in the army and participated in the Great Patriotic War, and in March 1946, he returned to the management of the "Pamir Tract" road in Osh, where he worked as chief engineer and manager. In 1955, he was appointed head of the management of the "Pamir Tract" road of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, later of Glavdorstroy under the Ministry of Transport Construction of the USSR. After that, he worked in agriculture for three years. Starting in 1964, when he headed the newly created Osh road construction management, all of Dorožinskiy F. S.'s work was related to the improvement of the city of Osh. From 1992 to the present, he has been working as a leading engineer in the Housing and Utilities and Landscaping department. Over 32 years of work in the communal services, under his leadership and with his participation, new bank protection dams were built on the Ak-Bura River, which allowed for the creation of two new parks and significantly expanded the Toktogul and Navoi parks. 26 squares were built and 7 were reconstructed. Roads, sidewalks, and irrigation networks were paved with asphalt on 320 streets. 114 places were built and restored with a total length of 1526 meters, 165.5 km of pipes, 167 bus stops, and 4 swimming pools. The street lighting of the city was newly made and restored over 256 km, with 24 traffic light objects, 2792 road signs, and 9 km of sidewalk fencing. The slopes of Sulaiman Mountain were landscaped. Dorožinskiy F. S. has been repeatedly elected as a deputy of local councils. He has been awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, medals for Courage, for Victory over Japan, and for Labor Valor. For excellent service in maintaining public order, he has been awarded 11 medals and honorary certificates from the government of the Union, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Central Committee of the CPSU, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, and the regional and city committees of the parties of Gorno-Badakhshan and Osh. He has been awarded the honorary title of Honored Builder of the Kyrgyz Republic.
