This happened a long time ago, but our ancestors preserved and passed down the story of Baytik Baatyr, who was born on the fertile land of the Chui Valley.
...One day, the supreme manap of the Solto tribe, Kanai, looked towards the snow-white mountains illuminated by the rays of the morning sun and hopefully turned towards the yurt. At that moment, a baby's cry came from the yurt. The manap was happy - he had a son. They named the boy Baytik. From a young age, Baytik grew up to be a brave boy. When he grew up, his relatives and friends called him Baatyr. For the healthy and strong-spirited Baytik, born at the foot of the eternally snow-capped Ala-Too mountains, the title of "Baatyr" suited him like no one else.
Years went by. The conquest of Kyrgyzstan by the Kokand khans changed the situation of the Kyrgyz people for the worse. Intertribal conflicts increased, and gradually, fratricidal wars drained the strength of the people. And then Baytik Baatyr was one of the first to bravely stand against the tyranny of the Kokand Khanate. He saw only one way out of the situation: to join the great country of Russia. The Kokand khans did not like this idea at all. They resisted the Russian troops in every way and tried to involve the Kyrgyz people in this struggle.
In the memory of the Kyrgyz and Russian peoples, Baytik Baatyr remains a hero and a friend of Russia. For his merits, he was awarded the Order of Stanislaus III degree and the Great Gold Medal on the Annen ribbon.
