Zhaparoа Makеn
Artist-craftsman. Born on October 1, 1954, in the village of Kyzyl Dyube, Kochkor District. Since 1973, she worked at the Union of Folk Arts and Crafts "Kiyal," and from 1979, she taught at the People's Applied Arts School No. 19 (now No. 92 named after S. Chokmoron) - a master of hand embroidery.
Since 1996, she has been a member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic. Participant in republican and all-Union exhibitions.
Awarded a Certificate of Honor from the VDNH of the USSR, and received a Silver Medal from the VDNH of the USSR for the felt carpet "Toguz Kayryk." In 1990, she was awarded the title of "People's Craftsman." In 1993, a documentary film about M. Zhaparoа's work titled "The Music of My Soul" was made.
