- During his working trip to the Osh region, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev announced the start of the reconstruction of the Aravan-Ak-Buurinsky canal. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The canal was built in 1968 and runs through the rural municipality of Japalak in the city of Osh, as well as through the rural municipalities of Toloykon and Kyzyl-Kyshtak in the Kara-Suu district and the rural municipality of Kerme-Tuu in the Aravan district. The main source of water supply is the Ak-Buura River.

Upon completion of the reconstruction, the canal will provide reliable water supply for more than 16 thousand hectares of agricultural land, reduce water losses, improve resource distribution, and minimize risks associated with mudflows and floods. This will also impact the sustainability of agricultural production and increase yields.
