The title "Село Араван" translates to "The Village of Aravan" in English.

Aravan Village

Aravan — a village, the administrative center of the Aravan District in the Osh Region of Kyrgyzstan

. Central Asia, 5 kilometers from the Uzbek border.

It is located in the southernmost part of the Fergana Valley, stretching along the Aravay-Say River. Situated on the Great Silk Road.

Aravan is the administrative, economic, and business center of the district of the same name, lying 30 kilometers west of the regional center – the city of Osh. Its specialization includes food, light, and flour milling industries. It is surrounded by agricultural land.

Up to 60% of the population consists of ethnic Kyrgyz and Uzbeks. The majority of the population are Muslims.

Architectural monuments in Aravan include a mosque, the Al-Bukhari madrasah, and a military memorial.

Aravan is famous for its surroundings, which have attracted archaeologists and speleologists. Not far from the city lies an ancient settlement that existed during the classical era on the Great Silk Road. It is identified with one of the capitals of the state of Dawan (Duan) – a land of farmers and horse breeders. On the rocks around the settlement, one can find images of domestic animals and petroglyphs. The rock paintings here are distinguished by their high level and naturalism. Particularly impressive are the depictions of horses, which correspond to the description of the legendary "heavenly horses" of Fergana.

The Tuyamuyun mountain range near Aravan is rich in caves. The most famous ones are located in the narrow Dangi canyon, carved by the Avavay-Say River. The canyon reaches a depth of 300 meters. Here is also the deepest cave in Kyrgyzstan – the Fersman Cave. Other caves – Surprise, Victory, Chon-Chunkur, Ajiadar-Unkur – are characterized by spacious multicolored (due to the glow of crystals) halls and passages. Another cave, Chil-Ustun, is located in the rocky massif of the mountain of the same name in the interfluve of Aravan-Say and Ak-Buura. Its walls are adorned with Arabic graphics.

Nearby is the children's camp "Charbak".

The football team of Aravan is FC Ak-Zhol. However, the club left the Higher League of Kyrgyzstan due to political unrest in April 2010. The best performance of FC Ak-Zhol was in 2005 in the Kyrgyzstan Cup, where they reached the semifinals.
