- In Kyrgyzstan, 700-750 agricultural cooperatives are actively operating, as stated in a report from one of the IFAD (International Fund for Agricultural Development) projects.

According to the fund's estimates, cooperatives face a number of problems, including deep-seated distrust stemming from the historical experience of collectivization, as well as inadequate management, limited opportunities for consolidation, lack of technical knowledge, and poor integration into market structures.

IFAD also points out that the lack of funding and limited access to quality certification standards are significant obstacles for cooperatives, complicating their entry into higher value-added markets.
