- As part of the program to improve state nurseries for growing seedlings, $534,000 has been allocated. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

These funds were distributed during events related to the project "Sustainability of Regional Pastoral Communities - ADAPT." The competition identified winners, including the Osh Forestry, the State Natural Park "Chon-Kemin," the Kara-Kulzhin Forestry, and the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University, with which corresponding grant agreements were signed.

Present at the event were the First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, and the Rector of the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University, Rysbek Nurgaziev.

Sixteen applications participated in the competition, with the main requirements being the availability of a land plot of at least 5 hectares and the presence of a business plan. The selection of participants was conducted by a commission consisting of representatives from government bodies, industry associations, and civil society organizations. The list of winners was approved by the project donor - the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

As part of this project, it is planned to attract a specialized company to develop project and estimate documentation for the nurseries. It is expected that the updated nurseries will begin operations by the end of next year.

According to the project documentation, the new nurseries will be able to produce up to 2 million seedlings of various trees annually, including nut-bearing, fruit-berry, and ornamental species. These seedlings will be supplied to forestry enterprises, forest users, and other interested parties.
