- The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic has initiated a proposal to introduce a temporary ban on the import of certain varieties of fruit and berry seedlings, which is set to take effect on January 1, 2026, and will last for six months. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.

As noted by the ministry, there is a growing diversity of fruit and berry varieties in the country, which creates a need for the development of new, modern, and high-quality varieties aimed at both the domestic market and export.

The goal of the temporary restriction is to reduce the number of low-quality seedlings that do not meet established standards.

It should be noted that this restriction will not affect re-export, transit, and domestic trade operations with participants from EAEU countries, as clarified by the ministry.
