Starting from December 8, 2025, the Bank of Russia will lift the previously imposed restrictions on foreign currency transfers abroad for individuals from friendly countries and citizens of the Russian Federation. This decision is related to the currently stable situation in the foreign exchange market, as reported by Interfax.

Until that moment, there was a limit on transfers for citizens of Russia and friendly countries, which amounted to no more than $1 million or its equivalent in another foreign currency.

However, some restrictions on currency transfers will remain in place for another year and a half, until June 7, 2026.
It should be noted that these restrictions do not apply to fund transfers from foreign investors who are investing in the Russian financial market, as well as transfers in rubles from banks in unfriendly states, provided that the accounts of the sender and recipient are opened in foreign banks.
