To achieve high yields and obtain quality products in the horticulture of Kyrgyzstan, experts emphasize the importance of making the right choice of seedlings and the proper combination of varieties when establishing orchards. Regardless of which fruit trees are planned for planting, the choice of varieties plays a crucial role in future yields, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Specialists recommend planting 80% of the main variety and allocating the remaining 20% to 2-3 pollinator varieties. This creates conditions for cross-pollination and ensures stable yields. It should be noted that some varieties may not bloom in certain years, so diversity in varieties helps to increase the resilience and productivity of the orchard.
When choosing seedlings, it is essential to consider the biological characteristics of the varieties. Important factors include similarity in growth parameters, disease resistance, and agronomic requirements, which simplify care for the orchard.
The recommended principles for combining varieties are as follows:
Summer varieties - plant 2-3 varieties in one area;
Autumn varieties - it is also advisable to combine 2-3 types;
Winter varieties - it is better to plant them separately from others.
This approach allows gardeners not only to increase yields but also to create an economically efficient model of the orchard, contributing to better production planning and increased income.
Employees of the Department for the Expertise of Agricultural Crops and Horticulture strongly urge gardeners to carefully select seedlings, as the right varieties lay the foundation for the long-term productivity of the orchard.
