Barno Zhorobaeva, a resident of the village of Erkin located in the Atabekov Aiyl Aimak of the Suzak District, is engaged in floriculture and is successfully earning from it.

In the current season, she planted 5,000 seedlings of the "Globus" chrysanthemum variety on her 14-acre plot.

According to her, the income from flower sales significantly exceeds the profits from traditional agriculture.

“Previously, we were engaged in cultivating a shared plot and a garden at home. At the beginning of this year, we planted garlic, which we harvested in June, and then planted flowers in its place. We brought 5,000 chrysanthemum seedlings from Uzbekistan and planted them. This decorative flower adapts well to our climate, requires a lot of moisture, and blooms until winter arrives. We invested about 350,000 soms in this project, and it turned out to be very profitable. When the flowers bloomed and were ready for sale, buyers offered to purchase them wholesale for 1 million soms, but I decided not to sell. As a result, our income turned out to be quite high,” shares B. Zhorobaeva.
Today, the price for one chrysanthemum bush ranges from 200 to 500 soms depending on its size.

In the future, Barno intends to increase both the planting area and the variety of flowers she will grow.
