The European Union has introduced the 20th package of sanctions against Russia

The European Union has decided to introduce the 20th package of sanctions against Russia. This decision was approved by the heads of the foreign ministries of the EU member states, who agreed on new measures against 17 individuals and legal entities.
As part of this package of restrictive measures, actions are planned against the so-called "shadow fleet," and for the first time, a U.S. citizen has been included in the sanctions list.
Among those listed are Andrey Sushentsov, the dean of the Faculty of International Relations at MGIMO, Ivan Timofeev, the director general of the Russian Council on International Affairs and program director of the Valdai Club, Andrey Bystritsky, chairman of the board of the Development and Support Fund of the Valdai Discussion Club, Fyodor Lukyanov, editor-in-chief of the journal "Russia in Global Affairs" and director of research at the Valdai Club, as well as Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko and former Florida sheriff's assistant John Mark Dougan, who is accused of supporting "Russian information operations on the internet."
According to the EU, John Mark Dougan obtained Russian citizenship after he sought political asylum in 2016. The list also includes three GRU officers.
Additionally, the sanctions affected former Swiss intelligence officer Jacques Bo, French expert Xavier Moreau, as well as three shipping companies: Emirati Citrine Marine SPC and Nova Shipmanagement LLC-FZ, and Vietnamese Hung Phat Maritime Trading.
