According to the National Statistical Committee, as of October 1, 2025, the population of Kyrgyzstan was 7 million 374 thousand people.
The country's labor force consists of 2 million 861 thousand people, of which 2 million 756 thousand are employed, while 104.7 thousand are unemployed. Thus, the unemployment rate in the country is 3.7%.
According to the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration, as of December 1, 2025, the official unemployment rate was 1.4%. There were 58,565 unemployed registered with employment services, which is 21.5% less than in the same period last year.
Among the registered unemployed, there are 39,841 people, which is also 26% less compared to the same period in 2024.
The largest number of registered unemployed have a general secondary education — 23,422 people, of which 10,244 are women. The next group consists of citizens with basic education (grades 5-9) — 9,435 people, including 4,205 women.
Among the unemployed, 2,447 people have secondary vocational education, including 1,496 women. There are 2,586 people with higher education registered, of which 1,683 are women. 1,450 unemployed have primary vocational education, among them 621 are women. 501 people have general primary education (grades 1-4), including 216 women. There are 7 people registered without primary education, none of whom are women.
