Dayirbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy department of the presidential administration, shared information about the outstanding financial results of the Kumtor mine for the year 2025. According to him, the company's revenue amounted to 124 billion 216 million soms, and the annual gold production will reach 12 tons. All funds generated from the mine's operations are directed to the state treasury and benefit the citizens.
He also noted that during the time Kumtor was managed by a foreign company, over 410 tons of gold were exported from Kyrgyzstan, not counting silver and other precious metals. Over nearly three decades of operation in the country, only 101 million dollars in dividends were paid out.
“Just this year, dividends amounted to 150 million dollars, and the total revenue of the company exceeded 1 billion 420 million dollars,” Orunbekov added.
He emphasized that the current achievements are the result of many years of efforts by President Sadyr Japarov, who worked tirelessly to bring Kumtor back under state control despite numerous challenges.
“The wealth of Kumtor should serve the interests of our people and contribute to the prosperity of the country,” concluded Dayirbek Orunbekov.
