At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 22, Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov stated that there are no rolling blackouts occurring in Kyrgyzstan.

During the discussion, Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova raised the issue of constant electricity outages in the Nookat district. Rysbekov clarified that no schedules for rolling blackouts have been introduced in the country, and the outages that do occur are not related to a deliberate restriction of electricity supply.

Since the beginning of November, in response to the low water level in the Toktogul reservoir, measures have been implemented to regulate electricity consumption. During morning and evening hours, the power available to the population was temporarily reduced from 5 to 3 kilowatts through "smart meters."

Since November 6, similar measures have also been applied to state institutions.

According to government information, as of January 15, the water level in the Toktogul reservoir was 9.102 billion cubic meters, which is 1.631 billion cubic meters less than on the same date last year.

The Ministry of Energy and the authorities emphasize that the electricity outages that occur from time to time are of a technical or regulatory nature and do not constitute rolling blackouts. In this regard, they urge the population and organizations to use electricity rationally and economically.
