This year, Kyrgyzstan, like other parts of Central Asia, is experiencing a decrease in water resources. This information was announced during a meeting in the government.
Currently, the water level in the Toktogul reservoir is 9.102 billion cubic meters, which is 1.631 billion cubic meters less compared to the same period in 2025.
Experts warn of a possible water shortage that could negatively impact electricity production volumes. In this regard, the importance of strict adherence to prescribed electricity consumption limits was emphasized. However, analysis shows that compliance with these limits often proves problematic in practice.
